National Healthcare Decisions Day

Today is National Healthcare Decisions Day, an initiative to encourage patients to express their wishes regarding healthcare and for providers and facilities to respect those wishes, whatever they may be.

National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD) exists to inspire, educate and empower the public &providers about the importance of advance care planning. NHDD is a collaborative effort of national, state and community organizations committed to ensuring that all adults with decision-making capacity in the United States have the information and opportunity to communicate and document their healthcare decisions. As a participating organization, Hospice Foundation of America encourages all of us to Have the Talk - discuss what care you want at the end of life with your friends and family members, and complete an advance directive.
